Our Mission

The Foundation for Americas Research, Inc. is a not-for-profit educational organization founded by Dr. Michael P. Smyth in 2008. Its purposes are:


(1) To promote research in the Americas defined as North, Central, South America in the fields of archaeology and anthropology, including climate change and human ecodynamics, ethnography, ethnohistory and related disciplines; cultural and eco-tourism, public outreach; legal and ethical issues of pre-Columbian antiquities, Amerindians; and public education, immigration, hemispheric trade, environment, traditional medicine, and related issues.


(2) To publish educational materials and research findings; promote workshops and conferences, educational travel, lectures, and exchanges.

(3) To conduct research projects related to these purposes.
